2. What choices did you face in developing your solution, and how did you choose among them?
Pretty much all i did the entire period was work on the proposal. I worked on trying to figure out what my variables were and i faced problems in planning ahead even though I'm more of an improvisation guy and that was my partner's plan. So all we could really do was throw the basic idea out there.

6. What progress did you make today on your solution? What needs to be completed next class?
Today i finished my more functions, even though I'm pretty sure they don't work like they should. But hey, i tried my best right and atleast i turned it in! So i'm not sure how to do the random dice thing but I'm going to get the proposal done for the next project tommorow.

Today i started my new functions and started figuring out how to make the dice throw out random numbers. So far I'm having a lot of trouble, but i think i can get it on monday.

2. What choices did you face in developing your solution, and how did you choose among them?
Today i didn't know what format i was supposed to use nor whether or not my initials for different things would work. They didn't. I tried testing it and there were plenty of errors.

1. What problems did you encounter while developing your solution? How do you plan to overcome
them?/How did you overcome them?
Today i encountered several problems. The main problem was having absolutely no idea of what I'm supposed to do nor how I'm supposed to do it.

6. What progress did you make today on your solution? What needs to be completed next class?
Today i started practicing on a program for problem solving with user defined functions. I have a good grasp of it but aren't completely sure of what to do. Next class i need to figure out the next step towards finishing the project.

3. How did you go about testing your program? What were the results of that testing?
I Looked at my neighbors to compare as well as simply trying it and fixing any errors that appeared. I made sure to make sure that my program worked with upper case letters and lower case letters as well.

6. What progress did you make today on your solution? What needs to be completed next class?
Today i found out how to do almost everything about my program. Though it isn't very unique or special in aspect, i plan on taking more time to make the program my own without disrupting its functionality.

3. How did you go about testing your program? What were the results of that testing?
Today i used the error list to test my program after trying it and so far i haven't accomplished anything because nothing i try will work. So pretty much unless i somehow figure out how to do the program from the book i'm in trouble.

1. What problems did you encounter while developing your solution? How do you plan to overcome
them?/How did you overcome them?
I've been having a hard time trying to figure out how to get B to go +2 for every number. Meaning 2 would then go to 4 then to 6 and so on and so forth. so far i haven't found out how to overcome this problem but i'm sure with the use of the internet and/or my book i can figure it out.

6. What progress did you make today on your solution? What needs to be completed next class?
Today all we did was work on the tracing code (loops) paper. So i pretty much got help from my neighbor on how the loops generally worked. I figured out a few things that i didn't know, and got clarification on a few things that probably should have been obvious.

6. What progress did you make today on your solution? What needs to be completed next class?
Today i pretty much finished my horror/adventure game/story. I completed all of my if statements and if i want i can put a few more in. However, my main objective to complete before Friday is to make an ASCII graphic to put in it. That is going to take some time unfortunately.

3. How did you go about testing your program? What were the results of that testing?
I've been starting it and checking the bottom part to find errors. However, the current error i have seems to have no visable solution. Even with a project similar to others and outside help i can't seem to find the answer to my problem. I'll have to continue to ask for hlep or there won't be much work done.

10/15/07 silent reading reflections
Today i pretty much spent most of the time reading up on the monday night football matchups. There were plenty of articles analyzing the different aspects of the game deciding who would be the winner and who would be going home with a loss. I also went on moco running to check up on the cross country and track talk.

3. How did you go about testing your program? What were the results of that testing?
Today i tested my program by checking the error box at the bottom. I then made sure to cut and paste any sections that were messed up to find out if everything else worked. After consulting the people around me, it was pretty easy to find the missing colon or a messed up string.

Today i was working on the mini programs that i didn't do because i missed a few days. I figured out how to do number 8 using if statements though it was kind of messed up. I also learned a bit about how to evaluate some of the questions. Next class i need to brush up on these evaluations and make sure i know how to program them.

3. How did you go about testing your program? What were the results of that testing?
I simply checked every line for errors before starting. I consulted a nearby classmate and when it turned out that there were errors which i couldn't figure out, consulted the teacher for help. It turned out that my problems were relatively simple and only required a few changing of words.

1. What problems did you encounter while developing your solution? How do you plan to overcome
them?/How did you overcome them?
I couldn't find a simple mistake when it said that i needed a parenthesis before the ; in my program. Next time i'll make sure to look at the exact line instead of wasting time trying to find the problem myself.

6. What progress did you make today on your solution? What needs to be completed next class?
Today i figured out that you can't have two of the same int's in a program because the program probably can't figure out which one to use. Because of this i made a great deal of progress and should be done by early tommorow.

9/25/07 reflection questions
4. Are there any specific tips you would give to someone else tackling the same problem? How would
what you suggest benefit that person in solving the problem?
Today i had a problem trying to find an error in my program because it said it had 3 errors and it turned out that with some careful searching there was only one error. I would suggest to somebody else that they just be patient and take the time to find whatever looks odd. If you can't figure it out, ask the teacher.

3. How did you go about testing your program? What were the results of that testing?
I go about testing my problem by cutting part of the program out to see if the first or second part is working. That way i can narrow it down to see which lines need work and which ones are done. When the program is actually functioning, i fill it in to see if there are any bugs. The results were that my program worked perfectly.

1. What problems did you encounter while developing your solution? How do you plan to overcome
them?/How did you overcome them?
I had a problem figuring out the output for my first programming project. It turned out that i had to have my input reflect my output exactly and that not everyone's format works for everyone else's work. Now at least i know how to do long inputs and outputs and can reference them if i can't figure it out.

I didn't realize that i had to separate each line of code until i executed the program and it didn't work. All i have to do is simply remember that each line of code has to be separated even if it is forming one image.
